Subject:  European Tour Card for Damien McGrane

The Wexford Professional Damien McGrane recently went to the qualifying tour school in Spain and came away with his tour card for next season. The adopted Wexford man finished in 32nd place with the top 35 and ties getting tour cards.

Damien is obviously delighted with himself after his finish on the challenge tour exempted him from some of the earlier qualifying rounds and then to play so well to earn his card. Damien was lucky also to have ex Wexford Assistant Professional Liam Bowler as his caddy for the qualifying rounds.

Damien is now guaranteed invites to eight European tour competitions and the hope is that he will end up with a lot more.

The Captain, Committee and Members of Wexford Golf Club congratulate Damien on his achievement and wish him the best of luck in the future.

As a result of his finish both fellow professional Gary Murphy and Damien were jointly awarded the Irish Independent Sports Star of the week award.
