Wednesday , November 12 2003 20:37PM

Ireland's Damien McGrane has retained his card at the European Tour Final Qualifying School in Spain. He shot a closing 66, one of the best rounds of the day to finish tied for third with Jeppe Hupdahl of Denmark. Richard McEvoy was five shots clear of McGrane after six rounds of the Emporda and Pas in Spain - a scintillating 63 yesterday set him up for the win.

Phillip Walton, however, failed for the fifth successive year to recover his tour card, a closing 68 left him on 416. Gareth Paddison of New Zealand was the only player on 412, one shot too many to win secure a 2004 tour card.
